Choice of terrain

Learning is closely connected to the quality of motor execution. A well-executed movement increases and improves the capacity for perception and, more generally, awareness. Therefore, the ability of the teacher to choose the suitable terrain becomes essential. This terrain must be appropriate for:

  • The abilities of the student or athlete
  • The correct execution of the technique to be practiced

Often some instructors choose the crag for the course outing based on selfish reasons, for example, based on the routes they want to “work on” during the lesson intervals. In these cases, it is evident that the sense of what they want to do has not even been understood.

When a technique has been correctly established, it is appropriate to experiment with it on greater difficulties, always giving importance to the correct execution that can continue to favor the quality of the movement.
