The Caruso Method
The Caruso Method® is a technical-didactic system for teaching and learning that allows you to best develop your motor skills in climbing and in all mountain activities. For some years, in addition to rock and ice, the application of the Method has also extended to skiing techniques – off-piste and ski mountaineering in particular – filling a gap in the knowledge of the principles inherent in the relationship between body movement and ski conduction on different types of snow: specific techniques have been designed that allow you to improve your general ability and in particular to adapt to different snow conditions.
This was possible thanks to the identification of some general characteristics of movement that connect the two disciplines. All the techniques of the Method – whether applied to rock climbing, ice climbing or skiing – were born from the study of the principles that regulate the balance and movement of the body through the movement of weight and limbs, as well as from the author’s 360-degree personal experience, from his passion for teaching and for the study of some oriental disciplines such as Qi Gong, Shiatsu and Tai Ji Quan.
Having identified the principles that are at the basis of all the different motor solutions has allowed us to identify new aspects for a conscious movement and at the same time to outline a more precise and effective path for improvement, promoting a capacity that is otherwise very difficult to obtain if not, perhaps, after years or decades of experience in the field….
